URS Awarded Clean Air Contract By We Energies

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) today announced that the Company has been awarded a contract by We Energies to provide management, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services for the upgrade of the air quality control system (AQCS) at the Oak Creek Power Plant in Wisconsin. The four-year contract is valued at $600 million to URS.

As part of the effort to reduce emissions and meet state and federal air quality requirements, URS will install two wet limestone forced oxidation flue-gas-desulfurization (FGD) systems for the removal of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and two selective catalytic reduction systems for the removal of nitrogen oxide (NOx). "This project follows the success of a similar air quality project that the Washington Division completed at We Energies' Pleasant Prairie Power Plant, which was named a 2007 Top Plant in the coal-fired category by POWER magazine."
