Monitor Labs, Inc.ltraflow gas flow and temperature monitor can be used for continuous flow measurement for large and small stacks and ducts. Transducers are non-intrusively mounted and isolated from the flue gas by purge air. The system measures the transit times of the tone burst between the transducers, the average velocity across the true stack diameter between the transducers and calculates the average flue gas temperature along this path. This unit uses a digital signal processor-type remote display panel, which affords greater flexibility in selecting outputs, performing calculations, configuring alarms, and quality assurance.
The resolution of the velocity measurement is 0.1 ft/sec. With an accuracy of ± 0.3 ft/sec. The temperature calculation accuracy is ± 3°F and is included in the calibration checks. Long term drift for the entire system is ± 1%. This system uses 3.5-in., schedule 40 pipe as the mounting supports for simplified placement requirements. It can operate in short or long range applications.
