Coolant manufacturers go to great lengths in their formulations to have the oil pop to the top. The skim-pak skimmer has a Flow Control self adjusting weir that attracts and delivers the surface liquid to the separator.

The Tramp Oil Separator system operates with a single connection to your low pressure air system. Because the skimmer delivers the top layer of coolant containing the tramp oil to the separator, there is no need to process all of the coolant several times over.
The skimmer head is also designed to fit in the most confined spaces or sump openings:
- Access openings as little as 5 inches (13.42 cm)
- Fluid levels as low as 1 Inch (2.9 cm)
- System area of only 17 inches x 14 inches ( 43.42 cm x 36.28 cm)
The air diaphragm pump pulls tramp oil and some coolant into the bag filter. This allows the pre-filter to remove metal fines and debris before coolant flows into the separating media. This filtering process extends the life of your coolant and reduces downtime by virtually eliminating applicator clogging.
The coalescing media inside the separator concentrates the oil for easy removal. This ensures only clean and filtered coolant is returned back to your machine tool sump. The continuous cycle process is accomplished with a minimum amount of maintenance in the most economical method possible. High oil shut off switches can also be provided for an automatic and worry free operation.
