The Thermo Scientific Arke SO3 System, with built-in SO3 generator, uses an advanced Quantum Cascade (QC) Laser-based platform to provide high sensitivity, optimum selectivity and a continuous, direct measurement of SO3 within tough industrial-plant process environments.
Utilizing an advanced QC Laser-based platform, the Arke SO3 System maximizes the sensitivity and selectivity of SO3 measurement, minimizing interferences with Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) and water.
Designed to operate anywhere within the plant process, the Arke SO3 System is a comprehensive, easy-to-integrate system, complete with an advanced software program that is compatible with standard DAS or DCS programs.
The sample-measurement bench utilizes a QC Laser that allows excellent SO3 detection and optimum selectivity. The measurement system reduces absorption line broadening, which limits the spectral features of SO2 or water from overlapping with the SO3 features. As a result, the spectral resolution has been determined to be one to two orders of magnitude better than the alternative spectroscopic methods.
The Arke SO3 System is calibrated by an SO3 generator that is integrated into the probe. Using proprietary technology, the SO3 generator produces precise and verifiable concentrations of SO3 calibration gas through the oxidation of SO2. The SO3 generator has a high conversion efficiency, which is validated by the ability of the system to measure both SO3 and SO2. System calibration is accomplished by injecting SO3 into the inertial filter near the point of extraction. Additionally, the probe is designed with a spiking port to bypass the filter and induce dynamic spiking to look for measurement.
