N/AiPrep Syringeless replace syringe-coupled filtration services and autosampler vials with single, disposable units. Each filter has a capacity of approximately 0.5 mL and consists of two parts, a chamber and a plunger. The design incorporates a filtration membrane on one end of the plunger and a preattached cap/septum on the other.
After the appropriate filter is selected, the sample is added to the chamber. The plunger is then inserted into the chamber until the membrane contacts the liquid. Filtering may be accomplished in one of three ways: manually without the compressor, manually with the compressor, and automatically with the processor.
A variety of filter membranes are available for the system including glass microfiber, nylon, polyethersulfone, polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, and polyvinylidene fluoride.
