Effective immediately, or as contracts permit, Solvay Chemicals, Inc. is increasing prices for all (Industrial, USP, and Feed) grades of sodium bicarbonate in its SOLVAir® and BICAR® product lines. The increase for bulk product is US$20.00 per short ton and the packaged product increase is US$30.00 per short ton.

This price increase is required to offset increased manufacturing, transportation and raw material costs that have become a permanent part of our cost structure. Additionally, this increase will support the re-investment needed to sustain a reliable supply of sodium bicarbonate to this growing market.
