The device positions microplates above the instrument to ensure complete access to the microplate by the robotic gripper. This allows for robotic loading and unloading of plates from either the front or the side without mechanical modification to the instrument. The mechanism can be removed from the microplate to allow the conversion of the instrument to stand-alone, multi-plate stacker, or manual operation.
