Particulate Monitor/Data Logger

The personalDataRam is a small, versatile aerosol monitor/data logger that provides real-time measurement and direct readout of concentration of airborne, dust, smoke, mists, and fumes. A new model for active sampling, the pDR-1200 uses an attachable pump module or separate sampling pump to perform particle size selective measurements. Compact, lightweight, and easy to use, it is well suited for respirable, thoracic, and PM₂₅ monitoring, as well as continuous emissions and test chamber monitoring. With optional inlet accessories, it also provides ambient air measurements under variable wind or high humidity conditions.

When the pump is operated at specific sampling flow rates, its optimally designed metal cyclone provides precisely defined particle size cuts. At four liters per minute, the cut point of the standard cyclone is 2.5 µm as required for PM₂₅ monitoring. With the attachable pump module, cut points between 2.0 and 10.0 µm are achieved. With a larger separate pump, this range can be extended down to 1.0 µm. Aerodynamic particle size distributions can be computed using instrument readings and an algorithm provided.
