The TP30 non-invasive optical sensor is designed to provide fast, accurate and reliable measurement of inlet gas combustion temperatures for industrial turbines
The TP30 non-invasive optical sensor is designed to provide fast, accurate and reliable measurement of inlet gas combustion temperatures for industrial turbines operating up to 1,700°C. digital or analog outputs can be incorporated into a closed loop combustion configuration for either control or alarm operation. Accurate combustion temperature measurement and one-second response time allow this unit to offer operating efficiencies including:
• Providing peak temperature operation within safe tolerances
• Protecting against turbine blade breakdown
• Reduced pollutant exhaust emissions
• Enhanced safety by indicating flame-off conditions

The sensor's technology measure IR emissions of the hot gases inside the turbine's combustion zone over several specific wavelengths. By using non-invasive optical technology, it does not employ actual thermocouples to make its temperature measurements. A rugged sesnor head is mounted outside the turbine gas inlet and collects the radiation intensities emitted by the hot gases. The sensor head has a threaded interface for easy mounting to the turbine and is rated for temperatures up to 400°C and for pressures to 300 psig.
