Victor O. Schinnerer & Company, Inc. announced the publication of a risk and practice management resource for design and construction professionals. It is aimed specifically at the environmental practitioner and the unique sources of risk applicable to the services of the environmental practitioner.

The purpose of Managing Risk in the Delivery of Environmental Services is to point out some of the additional risk management considerations as well as to reiterate those that are components of any effective risk management program for a firm providing professional design services. This publication is designed to (1) help environmental practitioners understand the sources of risk inherent in environmental practice and (2) help them operate more successfully by providing checklists of recommended practices for managing these sources of risk, and a discussion of each.

A risk management program can be broken down into three basic components: business, contracting, and professional practices. Each of these components are addressed in this publication. Additionally, to provide the appropriate context and an application for the sources of liability and some of the unique standards and definitions in the environmental arena, an overview of some of the key legal aspects are also covered.

The publication is free to CNA and Schinnerer insureds with the Environmental Program. Other interested parties can obtain copies of the publication by contacting the client services liaison at 301-951-9746 or e-mail to info@schinnerer.com.
