The Method 18 lung sampling system consists of a transparent, heavy wall plexiglass sampling vessel, a portable pump module, a stainless steel probe, a Teflon sample line with stainless steel fittings and vacuum line with quick connects to connect the vessel to the pump module. The intrinsically safe vessel is capable of withstanding a vacuum exceeding 29-in. Hg, allowing the evacuated vessel to be used in volatile atmospheres. The clear bag vessel has a removable top equipped with quick connects at the Tedlar bag inflation inlet and vessel evacuation outlet connection and a manual 3-way stainless steel valve at the sample line inlet for purging the probe prior to sample capture. The pump console is equipped with vacuum and pressure quick connect bodies, a precision rotameter, a flow control valve and a power switch along with the pump in a compact enclosed housing.
