Geotech Environmental Equipment has assumed production of the ORS Interface Probe since its August acquisition of ORS Environmental Equipment. All manufacturing and repairs have been moved to Geotech's facilities.

The probe rapidly measures depths to hydrocarbons and water in monitoring wells and tanks. It is described as lightweight, battery operated, simple to use, and built with a NEMA 3, weather-proof aluminum housing and a chemically resistant probe and tape. The dual-function probe uses an optical prism to distinguish air from liquid and an electrical conductivity sensor to differentiate water from hydrocarbons. Audible and visual indicators alert the user to both the water and hydrocarbon interfaces. The standard 100 ft (30.48m) probe is Factory Mutual approved for use in Class 1, Division 1, Group D hazardous locations. A grounding clip provides anti-static safety. The company claims that the instrument can detect hydrocarbon layers as thin as 1.5 mm and is accurate to 3 mm. Geotech Environmental Equipment, Inc., 1441 West 46th Avenue.
