The Aqua-Screen is an in-channel screen that can be customized to fit virtually any existing channel. By using perforated plate panels for screening, it achieves high capture rates and throughput. Waste or process water flows down the channel to the screen where liquids and undersized solids flow through the stainless steel screen panel, while oversized suspended solids remain on the screen surface. The stepped panels containing debris are then elevated out of the flow and carried upward on heavy-duty traveling chains. Captured screenings are discharged down a totally enclosed chute where an adjustable driven brush removes any solids remaining on the screen.
The panels are then cleaned via a high-pressure spray bar before resubmergence in the effluent. All routine maintenance can be performed above ground level and the stepped panels can be easily individually replaced. Standard screen openings are 5, 6, and 10 mm.
