Idaho, Oregon, Washington Trucking Companies Earn EPA National Award For Pollution Reduction, Transport Efficiency

At a national ceremony held today, five Pacific Northwest trucking companies earned a SmartWay Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in recognition of their leadership in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency.

As EPA SmartWay Partners, the five companies - A&M Transport, LLC and May Trucking Company of Oregon, Doug Andrus Distributing LLC of Idaho, and LTI, Inc. and System Transport, Inc. of Washington - are among the industry’s the most energy efficient carriers.

“For 17 years the SmartWay Transport Partnership has worked together with stakeholders in the freight industry to find innovative ways to reduce pollution from goods movement,” said Sarah Dunham, Director of EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality. “We commend the innovation, drive, and collaborative spirit of our partners whose efforts are helping to meet the challenge of climate change and to create a healthier environment for us all.”
