Halogen Valve Systems Introduces Emergency Shutoff System For Scrubber Treatment Systems

Irvine, CA This Terminator emergency shutoff system sequentially closes 150 lb. cylinder valves containing toxic gas in less than three seconds when activated from remote sensors and switches. The Gemini controller has a self-contained battery system that guarantees the operation of the motorized closing mechanism even during a power failure. The latest Fire Codes recognize and approve the "automatic-closing fail-safe shutoff valve" system in lieu of scrubber treatment systems.
This dual-torque microprocessor controlled system applies 40 foot-pounds of torque for test closures and 40 foot-pounds of torque for emergency closures of the cylinder valve. The operator would be required to correct the condition, check the facility, and then manually reset the valve before restarting the gas system.
The Terminator actuators systems are easily installed on existing 150 lbs. cylinders and can be tested by the operator on-site to assure correct operation. The actuator is designed as "close only" which means, as a safety devise it will only close when electronically activated. The valve can then be opened manually after checking the gas connections and simply removing the actuator.
