General Environmental Management, Inc. Announces Renewed Part B Permit For General Environmental Management

Pomona, CA - General Environmental Management, Inc. ("GEM"), one of the leading environmental and waste remediation company, recently announced its permitted hazardous waste consolidation facility, General Environmental Management of Rancho Cordova LLC (GEM LLC), received its renewed Part B permit on April 25, 2007 from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC).

GEM acquired the Rancho Cordova Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF) in June of 2004 from the former Pollution Control Industries of California. The renewed permit, which allows for expanded waste acceptance, authorizes GEM to operate the TSDF through the year 2017. The permit specifically increases monthly waste throughput and storage capacity, and adds state and federal waste codes that will allow for operational flexibility and facilitate additional process efficiencies.

"While the process of renewing the permit has taken considerable time and effort, working with DTSC and particularly the staff of the Permitting Department has been a rewarding experience. The knowledge and professional attitude of the permitting staff were tremendous assets in accomplishing the renewal of this permit," commented Clyde Rhodes, GEM's Chief Compliance Officer.
