Gas Leak Detection

The Acoustic Gas Leak Detector MM0100 was developed in co-operation with one of the world's leading oil and gas suppliers.

They needed a reliable gas leak detector for fixed gas leak monitoring of their unmanned on-shore / off-shore gas installations.

In outdoor installations the escaping gas is often very quickly diluted or drifted away by the wind, therefore a potential leak can last for a very long time before it is detected. Pressurised leaking gas (10 -200 BAR), escaping through a leakage, emits so called "ultrasound" which is spread in all directions up to a radius of 20 meters or more, from the leak source.

The ultrasonic Gas Leak Detector MM0100 offers an air born acoustic detection of gas leaks as an alternative or supplement to existing gas detection technologies (Infrared point, Infrared Open-path or catalytic point sensors).

The MM0100 uses state of the art stainless steel microphone technology as sensor head, and due to the fact that microphones are the most stable transducer made, maintenance costs are kept at a absolute minimum.
