The OEM-approved dye is added to an AC&R system, where is circulates with the lubricant. The refrigerant leaks out with the dye, which remains at every leak site. When the system is scanned with a UV lamp, the dye glows a yellow-green and reveals the locations of each leak.
The dye is said to be approved by major compressor, AC&R equipment, lubricant and refrigerant manufacturers worldwide.
