The Forney F-8200 Ultrasonic Volume Flow Meter uses state-of-the-art technology to measure volumetric flow in flue gas exhausts. The ultrasonic method measures lower velocity ranges than differential pressure methods. The F-8200 system provides accurate measurements, simple installation and outperforms traditional systems, even on stacks with a wide diameter.

The system is designed for difficult applications including:

  • Corrosive environments
  • Wet Stack environments (below the dew-point)
  • Velocities as low as 0-99 ft/sec. (0-30 m/s)
  • Stack diameters up to 400 in. (10m)

The F-8200 system is ideal for these more difficult applications, because the sensors are completely decoupled from the gas by means of purge air. This also minimizes maintenance costs.

The key advantage of an ultrasonic monitoring system is that neither temperature, pressure nor density changes will influence the measured result. The system averages volumetric flow along the entire profile of the duct or stack offsetting the effects of stratification and turbulence.
