The KAPPA-5/E-003 gas analysis system is ideally suited for direct determination of ppb to ppm levels of ethylene in ambient air. This monitor routinely detects ethylene in air at concentration levels as low as 3 ppb or below. Rapid cycle times of six minutes per analysis makes the system a nearly continuous monitor.
The analyzer employs a patented RGD (reduction gas detector) technology, which selectively responds to reducing compounds such as unsaturated hydrocarbons. The analyzer can be mounted in a 19-in. industrial enclosure for installation in a mobile laboratory or as an on-line process control monitor. The system has a built-in data handling software package and can communicate data and trend signals to a remote PC. Full automation with ultra-high sensitivity, makes the monitor well suited for monitoring trace ethylene in air from fugitive emission around petrochemical plants and for quality assurance of ethylene concentration in air in the ripening of commercial fruits.
