Emission Control Orders Awarded To Fuel Tech For $4.3M

untitled

Fuel Tech Inc., a leader in advanced engineering solutions for the optimization of combustion systems and emissions control in utility and industrial applications, has been awarded multiple air pollution control (APC) contracts from customers in China and the U.S, totaling $4.3M.

In the U.S., the company will demonstrate its Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) technology, and deliver the first commercial orders for XCAM Extractive Continuous Ammonia Monitor systems. Delivery is expected in the first and second quarters of 2014.

In China, Fuel Tech will deliver its ULTRA systems for two medium-sized coal-fired utility units that are being retrofitted with nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction technology. Fuel Tech also received contracts for multiple small coal-fired units that will utilize HERT High Energy Reagent Technology and NOxOUT Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) systems. The company will also use its Flue Gas Conditioning (FGC) system from a repeat utility customer for a large coal-fired unit in China. FGC technology helps capture fly ash particulate from coal-fired boilers. Fuel Tech also received two contracts for its new XCAM Extractive Continuous Ammonia Monitor product line, which provides data to the SNCR system to improve NOx reduction performance and reduce reagent consumption, while allowing customers to monitor potential environmental and operational issues associated with excess ammonia emissions.
