Drucker + Falk Announces Completion Of Major Green Initiative For Virginia Headquarters

Company installed nearly 600 solar panels to generate 100 percent of Virginia office’s annual electrical needs.

Newport News, VA (PRWEB) - Drucker + Falk, one of the nation’s most prominent multifamily management companies, recently completed a major green initiative to reduce its carbon footprint. The company installed 586 solar panels, 385W each, on the roof of its headquarters located at City Center in Newport News, VA. The 225.6 kw system should produce 280,000 kWh annually, which is enough electricity to offset 100 percent of their Virginia office headquarters’ requirements. The system will offset 309,680 carbon emissions per year, which is equivalent to planting 1,611 trees per year and the same amount of energy produced by 45 tons of coal per year.

“The company has a strong history of doing the right thing and investing for the long-term” said Guy Buck, Chief Financial Officer at Drucker + Falk. “We proudly chose to make this investment of over $400,000 in renewable solar energy at our Newport News office, where the company was founded over 81 years ago. We know that this investment will not only pay off financially, but will help to reduce emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future.”

Drucker + Falk completed the project through Convert Solar of Virginia Beach after being introduced to them through Solar United Neighbors, a national non-profit organization dedicated to representing the needs and interest of solar owners and supporters. Among other things, Solar United provides education and resources including organizing co-ops for individuals and businesses to leverage bulk-purchasing power to get discounted pricing and quality installation. Convert Solar was recommended by Solar United after a competitive process as their supplier for recent co-ops in the Hampton Roads area.
