Purafil, Inc.K disposable plastic module is constructed of recyclable, polystyrene plastic and is designed to combine the durability of a high-impact plastic module with the maintenance benefits of a disposable cardboard variety. The product is factory-filled and packed with the user's choice of dry scrubbing, granular media. When the media inside the module is spent, the old module is simply replaced with a new one, and no tools are required for replacement. A rigid frame and durable construction help eliminate the possibility of bowing, and as a result, bypass air.

Two versions of this system are available, one for use in commercial environments (PK-18) and the other for use in industrial environments (PK-12). The PK-12 media bed is three inches deep for higher contaminant levels. The PK-18 measures 6 x 24 x 18 in. (152 x 610 x 457 mm) and has a higher surface area than the PK-12. The Pk-12 measures 12 x 24 x 12 in. (305 x 610 x 305 mm), giving it a lower system pressure drop. Both the PK-12 and the PK-18 are said to demonstrate 98% or more minimum gas removal efficiency.
