Cumulative CO₂ Emissions Reduction Of 4 Million Tons Achieved As Of The End Of FY2024

RENOVA, Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Yosuke Kiminami, Founding CEO; hereinafter “RENOVA”) announces that the cumulative total reduction^* 1 of its CO₂ emissions reached 4 million tons as of the end of FY2024, the result of its business activities involving power plants it operates in Japan and overseas. This is equivalent to annual emissions from approximately 1.57 million general households.

RENOVA expressed its support for the Sustainable Development Goals in 2017 and set a target of helping reduce CO₂ emissions by 10 million tons by 2030 as its guideline for contributing to initiatives to reduce CO₂ emissions globally.

Under the Medium-term Management Plan 2030, which was announced in May this year with the aim of accelerating its businesses, RENOVA revised the target significantly upwards. The new target is to reduce CO₂ emissions by a cumulative total of 20 million tons, equivalent to annual emissions from 7.8 million ordinary households.

Under “Our Mission,” which says, “To create green and sustainable energy systems for a better world,” RENOVA has been expanding its business domains for promoting its locally based business of developing and operating renewable energy sources and for advancing decarbonization. As part of this initiative, RENOVA is accelerating the development of its power storage business. To build a decarbonized society, RENOVA will continue to focus its efforts on reducing CO₂ emissions through its domestic and overseas business activities.
