Corbion Reduces GHG emissions With Boiler Upgrade And Installation Improvements To Boost Energy Efficiency In Esters Production

(GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Corbion, the sustainable food-ingredients company dedicated to preserving what matters, today announces that it has received funding from several European energy and development funds to support a boiler-replacement project at its Montmeló production site in Spain.

Industrial manufacturing sites often require heat in their processes. This heat is typically provided through natural gas. The natural gas is used to heat oil in an oil heater or to produce steam in a steam boiler. As part of its emission reduction program, Corbion has installed a new oil boiler at its esters manufacturing plant in Montmeló, Spain. The new, more efficient boiler delivers annual energy savings of 65.02 toe (tonnes of oil equivalent), directly contributing to our target of achieving a 42% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2030.

This Corbion project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) and managed by IDAE and ICAEN under the National Energy Efficiency Fund that aims to achieve a cleaner and sustainable economy.
