Coming Soon: WEF Animal- residuals- management Conference
The conference will bring together members of an industry involved in developing, testing, and implementing technological advances in the area of animal-waste management.
The conference co-chairs are Patricia Millner (USDA Agricultural Research Service), who chairs WEF's Residuals & Biosolids Animal Manure Subcommittee, and Ted Payseur (Veenstra & Kimm Consultants).
The conference is designed around three technical program tracks: Technology and Practices, Policy, and Management. Session topics include composting, soil amendments, fertilizer treatment processes, nutrient testing, emerging technologies, regulations, risk management, animal and health issues, watershed issues, monitoring and accountability, state revolving funds, TMDLs, and agricultural waste storage and handling.
Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), who will keynote the conference, said," I believe it is imperative that we explore new and better technologies for manure storage, handling, application, and processing for alternative uses."
