Brisa, Parent Company Of Lassa Tires, Is A World Leader In CDP's Climate Change Program

Istanbul / PRNewswire / - Brisa Bridgestone Sabancı Tire Manufacturing Inc. Achieved an "A" Rating and Is a Global Leader in the Carbon Disclosure Project Climate Change Program "Supplier Communication Assessment" List (CDP), which was created for the first time.

Brisa, parent company of Lassa Tires, which is also one of the CDP Turkey Climate Change leaders, continues the program to fight climate change by focusing on the environment, and by establishing social and corporate governance systems.

The CDP is an international environmental reporting platform based in London that holds the largest amount of data relating to the impact on climate change, water and forests of companies. Brisa, Lassa's parent company, is one of the world leaders with an “A” rating in the “Assessment of supplier communications” category of the CDP program, whose objective is to manage the risks linked to climate change and to state of performance in supply chain collaboration.

Brisa also received an “A-” rating in the CDP's Climate Change Program for her initiatives to reduce the effects of climate change and protect natural resources. Brisa also earned a place on the podium in the CDP Turkey Climate Change Leaders category.

Brisa, under the direction of which Lassa Tires operates, has been monitoring carbon emissions data since 2005 and has reported carbon and water use data to CDP since 2011. The company has exceeded 6 points her target of reducing her carbon emissions per unit of production by 25% in 2020 compared to her 2005 data and reached 31% reduction a year ahead in 2019. Brisa has again set herself as target to reduce water consumption by 61% in 2020 compared to 2008 and achieved 53% water savings in 2019. Brisa also reduced its energy consumption by 40% in 2019 compared to 2008, when the company launched its energy saving projects, with the contribution of the 421 projects to the total it has carried out to date.

Brisa, the governing body of Lassa Tires, also became the first company in Turkey and Europe to comply with the ISO14046 water footprint standard in 2017.
