CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aerodyne®, a division of Abanaki Corporation, announces the new Vacu-Valve® Platypus, one of the lowest-cost, lowest-maintenance dust collector valves available. The Vacu-Valve Platypus operates as a constant discharge valve for dust collectors, hoppers, cyclones and other equipment operating under negative pressure. Its unique duck bill design allows it to dispense free-flowing material continuously. The low-maintenance Platypus requires no lubrication or power source and has no controls. It's ideal for "keep empty" dust collection units and is available in carbon steel or stainless steel versions. The replaceable duck bill sleeves are available in neoprene, viton or white nitrile, making the unit suitable for general use, high-temperature or food grade applications.

Typical industries that use the Vacu-Valves include foundry, mining, cement, pharmaceutical, dry foods, plastics, chemical and manufacturing.

Aerodyne Vacu-Valves have been efficiently and economically emptying particulate from dust collectors and bag houses for more than 40 years. Aerodyne offers a range of valves, including rotary, double dump, slide gate, knife and screw-type valves. Aerodyne dust collection systems have been used in a wide range of industries since 1949. The material-handling valves are one of the longest lasting and durable in the powder and bulk handling industry. Now part of the Abanaki family of products, Aerodyne supplies custom-designed (turnkey) pollution control systems as well as individual components for a wide variety of applications.
