Universal Analyzers Inc. offers a Gas Sample Chiller that conforms to NEC Hazardous Location Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C & D. The Single or Dual Stage Vortex chiller provides a self-regulated 4.0°C dewpoint sample gas ready for analysis. Compressed air is used to chill the gas samples where electrical devices are not wanted. In some applications, the cold air venting from the Vortex cooled chiller can eliminate the need for auxiliary Cabinet cooling when it is located inside a Nema Enclosure with other equipment such as a Gas Analyzer.

The 1100 Series Vortex chiller self-regulates the sample temperature to 4°C by using a non-electric thermal bulb
control valve. This valve pinches down on the air supply when the heat transfer block approaches freezing. The
condensate from a gas sample in the 1100 Series Vortex Chiller will not freeze!

The standard thermoelectric chiller creates a considerable amount of heat, which will cause a significant Thermal Bulbtemperature rise within an Enclosure.

With the Vortex chiller, the compressed air used to supply the Vortex Tube will be used both to chill the sample and for Cabinet Cooling!

The sample wetted Heat Exchanger can be supplied as 316SS, TFE coated 316SS, Kynar/Glass or Hastelloy C276. The Exchanger/Impinger has a thermocouple port for monitoring sample temperature.
