A new Teflon®1 facing option makes the Milltronics Echomax® XRS-5 transducer suitable for level measurement in applications involving corrosive materials, including acids or caustics in storage tanks.

The product is approved for hazardous areas, with approvals from the following agencies:

  • Factory Mutual (FM): Class I, Zone 1 AEx m II T6, Class II, Div. 1, Gr. E, F, G, Class III
  • Cenelec: EEx m II T6, CE Atex II 2G
  • CSA: Class I, Div. 2, Group A, B, C & D and Class II, Div. 1, Group E, F & G

The XRS-5 transducer is the latest generation Milltronics transducer. Built for high performance at a reasonable price, it has proven popular in the field since its launch a year ago. With its focused beam, it's ideal for wet wells and other applications where obstructions could interfere with the signal. This new Teflon facing option extends its range beyond the wastewater industry into chemical processing, pulp and paper and other processes that employ corrosive materials.

Echomax ultrasonic transducers are built for harsh environments. They are impervious to dust, moisture, corrosion, vibration, flooding and temperature extremes. The non-contacting design virtually eliminates the nuisance, danger and expense of cleaning, adjusting and repairing contact devices.
