Package-plant Replacement Air Diffusers

Hydro-Chek coarse-bubble gas diffusers are available as replacements in package wastewater-treatment plants. The air diffusers--available in stainless steel or plastic--feature downflow design with airflow orifices located in the diffusers' body, not in the air check diaphragm as in competitive models. This preserves the flexible diaphragms' structural integrity while minimizing diffuser orifice problems from sediment. The downflow design also reduces the shearing of air bubbles leaving the orifices as they turn upward around the perimeter of the diffuser. The diaphragm, which seats against the diffuser body extends when the diffuser is pressurized to allow air through the fixed diffuser-body orifices. In its closed position, liquid backflow is minimized, preventing wastewater from entering and clogging the diffuser or air piping. The positive checking action of the flexible air EPDM-based rubber diaphragm prevents backflow due to variations or interruption of the airflow. Other design features include: either 3/8 or 3/4-in. NPT fittings and airflow capacity to 12 CFM.
