Major Policy Initiatives And Legislation Updates Discussed At Cutting Edge CLE Program On The Clean Air Act

Philadelphia, PA (Marketwired) - American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (ALI CLE) is pleased to announce its upcoming program, The Clean Air Act: New Directions in Law, Policy, and Practice, will take place on May 8-9 at Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, DC.

The nation's top experts will assemble in Washington, DC to offer their insight into the latest development in judicial review of the Environmental Protection Agency's regulatory authority, air permitting and reporting requirements, new source review, remission cap and trade programs, and revisions to the national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants.

This two-day program is essential for attorneys because in the heart of President Obama's second term, the EPA is moving aggressively to leave the administration's imprint on environmental and energy policy. This year's program will feature trending topics such as regional haze, preemption, New Source Performance Standards, and EPA-mandated reporting of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as an analysis of the Supreme Court's consideration of two important cases regarding ozone transport and greenhouse gas regulations.

For attendees who are unfamiliar with the Clean Air Act or who are interested in a refresher, there will be an optional introductory lecture on the structure and substance of the Act in the morning of the first day of the program.

Faculty highlights include Wendy Blake, Assistant General Counsel, EPA; Elliott Zenick, Office of General Counsel, EPA; David Doniger and John Walke, National Resources Defense Council, Deborah Harris, U.S. Department of Justice; Eric V. Schaeffer, Environmental Integrity Project; Michael G. Jenkins, Assistant General Counsel, PacifiCorp Energy; and planning chairs Peter Hsiao, Morrison & Foerster LLP; Jonathan Martel, Arnold & Porter LLP; and Byron F. Taylor, Sidley Austin LLP.

The course provides 12 hours of CLE instruction, including one hour of ethics. To register or obtain further information, click here (http://www.ali-cle.org/CV040).
