AMETEK Drexelbrookesign criteria for Drexelbrook's new ultrasonic differential level measurement system for traveling/bar screen control was simplicity. This system, just released by Drexelbrook Engineering Co., can easily be calibrated in less than 90 seconds without power, with very little instruction, and virtually no training. Simply set the zero and the differential span directly in engineering units; that's it.

The 505-1500 Series system provides a 4-20 mA signal, proporational to the differential level. No need for external calculations. The system includes one electronic unit and two transducers, with all functions and calculations done at the electronic unit. One transducer is mounted on each side of the screen and both are connected to the electronic unit through cable. No other equipment is needed. All three system components are furnished in Nema 4X/explosion-proof housings.

Because the system uses ultrasonic technology, nothing comes in contact with the liquid, so there are no problems with fouling, clogging, or jamming. And there are no moving parts to break or wear out. There is no recommended routine maintenance required.
