The new Variport mixing system incorporates a mechanical actuator that allows the full discharge capacity of the pump to be sequentially directed to multiple ports in a digester. The hydraulic capacity and sequential mixing are designed to achieve overall tank mixing for maximum digester gas production and reduced grit accumulation. The system, developed through full-scale operation, features the following:
•Multiple discharge points to eliminate dead spots
•System design allows the digester to remain on-line during inspection or maintenance
•Innovative mechanical actuator for sequentially directed flow
The technology will be featured in the manufacturer's booth at the Water Environment Federation Technology Exposition and Convention (WEFTEC) at Anaheim,CA.
