Stormwater Professionals Face Surface Water Quality Deadline
Portland, OR /PRNewswire/ - Water protection experts will gather at the Oregon Convention Center August 3 - 7 to explore the newest pollution prevention technologies and discuss which strategies are most effective in minimizing surface water pollution. With NPDES compliance in mind, StormCon 2014 brings together public officials, builders and contractors, inspectors, civil engineers, designers, regulators, enforcement officials, planners, consultants, researchers, educators, EPA staff, property executives, and other water quality professionals under one roof to focus on this critically important topic.
Water quality programs include state and federal permit requirements related to stormwater runoff including management of public education, illicit discharges, erosion control, post-development runoff BMPs, system maintenance, water quality monitoring, data analysis, and reporting. Drainage and flood control programs include operational maintenance of drainage systems, planning and construction of capital improvements, and basic knowledge of flood plain management.
Many attendees will raise their status and future earnings by training and then testing for a highly coveted professional certification. With a majority of the testing applications due by July 6th, registrations are pouring in. The courses and certifications include:
- Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ®)
- Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC®)
- Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI™)
