Software Improves Environmental Information Management

Designed to replace notebooks and paper-filled file drawers, MSDS-DFC lets you easily scan, import, store, search, track, view, print, and distribute material safety data sheets (MSDS) forms and all related documents directly from a PC. The program can use graphics and text files received from virtually any source (scanner, fax, modem, keyboard or other source). The new version works directly with the company's Fastsearch CD-ROM database of 180,000 specific MSDS records. Version 2.0 also supports automatic document feed (ADF) for fast, unattended scanning. There is also expanded support for network distribution of MSDS records via the new SimpleView SBS viewer utility. This side-by-side viewer gives every employee (even those new to computers) easy access to the centralized database of digital MSDS documents through a simple "click and view" interface.

MSDS-DFC was designed to work seamlessly with the EnviroWin Chemical Inventory System (CIS). Now an unlimited number of support documents (such as shipping manifests, receipts, batch records, etc.) for each inventoried chemical can be prepared and maintained. The software tracks and sorts by names, CAS numbers, formulas, and many other factors. The system also generates a variety of reports for listing chemicals, and has bar-code printing capability for scanning containers in inventory.
