PolyGuard Filtration Media
Key features of PolyGuard are:
- High weight to loading capacity (up to 4:1 by weight)
- High surface area
- Hydrophobic absorbent surface
- Superior capacity for organics
- Non-catalytic activity
- Not exothermic in use
PolyGuard is produced in dry, granular form ready to use form. It is then loaded in vessels designed for either liquid and vapor applications. Spent material is changed out by standard methods and disposed of by incineration.
PolyGuard systems can be engineered from easily portable field vessels, to more permanent installations (see below).
Cost savings over the use of carbon only, can exceed 50% in labor and materials.
PolyGuard is especially effective with high influent concentrations. Thus, initial removal of these high concentrations will often prevent the following carbon bed from being quickly spent. Carbon will then effectively remove (polish) remaining contamination to non-detectable levels for extended periods of time.
