PetroGuard - Hyper Immobilizing Oil & Chemical Spill Control

PetroGuard is a dry, white granular powder consisting of a proprietary blend of organic materials. PetroGuard is used to absorb and immobilize hazardous liquid chemical spills as well as conventional oil spills on land or water, converting them to a recoverable solid, with minimal overall volumetric increase. The most unique and important characteristic of PetroGuard is that once absorbed, liquids will not be released, even under pressure.

Emergency spill response: PetroGuard is used as a hyper-absorbent because of its rapidly immobilizing characteristics. PetroGuard will quickly absorb and render safe, highly reactive chemicals. PetroGuard will also prevent or reduce production of acid fumes, which result from reaction of certain chemicals with exposure to air and moisture. Absorbed chemicals are then easily handled and disposed of as a solid by incineration.

For water spills, the primary function of PetroGuard is to immobilize and solidify any un-dissolved or floating product. PetroGuard can be applied in its "free form" directly to the spill either manually or with mechanically assisted devices. Recovery and pickup of immobilized product is then greatly simplified.

PetroGuard has a strong affinity for hydrocarbon-based liquids and gases. It has demonstrated a particularly strong attraction for the primary aromatic compounds. Key features of this absorbent are:
