MyGuideAmericas LLC, NDrive Navigation, And Earthrise Technologies Launch First Open Portable Eco-Navigation Device For The EU

The Eco-Navigator (www.eco-nav.com) is the world's first TRUE ecoDriving and ecoRouting connected portable navigation device (CPND). The device connects to the vehicle's diagnostic bus and is able to read important vehicle information – fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, speed, odometer, trouble codes, diagnostics tests, and more. This data is read in real-time, and displayed to the driver in a meaningful way, thereby helping save fuel, reduce emissions, and improve safety. MyGuideAmericas LLC (www.myguidegpsusa.com), NDrive Navigation Systems S.A. (www.ndrive.com), and Earthrise Technologies, Inc. (www.earthrisetech.com), a subsidiary of the Digisec Group (www.digisecgroup.com), have formed a partnership to deploy the Eco-Navigator through various electronics distributors and retailers in Europe, focusing initially on the United Kingdom. NDrive Navigation system will run on the Eco-Navigator, along with real-time traffic, when it is deployed in early Q4 in select UK outlets.

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) The Eco-Navigator is an innovative, ground-breaking portable navigation device featuring an OBD2 (On-Board Diagnostics port) interface that connects directly to the diagnostics bus of a vehicle, thereby collecting engine and performance data in real-time. The Eco-Navigator processes this information and displays in MPG and CO2 per mile (real-time) in chart form. Eco-Navigator also calculates an "Eco-Score" comparing actual driving performance (MPG) to the vehicle's rating, and/or to other benchmarks. Vehicle and driver performance information is sent via a GPRS connection to a web portal where motorists can review and download their driving performance as well as vehicle diagnostics and maintenance information. One of the key value propositions of the Eco-Navigator is the ability for drivers to see in real-time how their driving behavior effects gas mileage and CO2 emissions. Drivers can adjust their driving behavior, as well as see how their vehicle performs relative to the capabilities advertised by the manufacturer.

MyGuide is a longtime supplier of GPS devices in the North American and European markets. MyGuide and Digisec Group (www.digisecgroup.com), based in Beijing, have worked extensively during the past year to bring the Eco-Navigator to market in the NA and EU markets. Digisec specializes in automotive electronics and software, while MyGuide has deep expertise in electronics distribution and retailing. Both are privately held companies. MyGuide partners with leading specialists in their field from around the globe to incorporate best in class features at affordable prices. (Note: MyGuide has no association with any entity called "MyGuide" in Europe).

"Our partnership with MyGuide Americas remains strong and we look forward to working in the EU markets with them. As well, we are very excited to be working with NDrive, a world leader in navigation solutions with a distinguished reputation" said Jim DiSanto, President of Earthrise and a Digisec board member. "Oil prices are again heading up again as the world economy transitions from recession to a new growth cycle. Fuel costs are the number one concern of consumers world-wide, followed closely by the amount and effect of carbon emissions. Transportation is now the number one man-made producer of green house gas, and drivers are becoming more cognizant of how their vehicle and their driving behavior impacts the environment. Using innovative telematics technology like Eco-Navigator coupled with NDrive navigation motorists can alter driving behavior and thereby save gas, save money, reduce emissions and help protect the environment."

"NDrive has always worked towards improving the driving experience and economical GPS routing. In partnering with Earthrise and its eco-friendly systems and partners, we feel that NDrive is not only reaching a new customer base, but also being environmentally responsible". Said Luis Baptista-Coelho, NDrive CEO. "It is our pleasure to align our navigation software with a leader in the eco-navigation and diagnostics space. The partnership of NDrive, Earthrise, and MyGuideAmericas LLC combined with the excellence of Navteq's maps and traffic data is a game changer".
