The Wright-Austin type 40EHC exhaust head is designed for long service life with body, cover, and separating element
The Wright-Austin type 40EHC exhaust head is designed for long service life with body, cover, and separating element made of high-tensile cast iron that will not crack or corrode. It provides separation of objectionable entrained liquids and solids from exhaust steam, gases, and vapors. The "Vortex Containment Plate" helps assure positive shear action at liquid-vapor interface. According to the manufacturer, these exhaust heads are highly efficient, have virtually no backpressure, and require no maintenance.

Sizes 4 in. and smaller have threaded (NPT) connections. Sizes 4 in. and larger are flanged and drilled 125 lb. ANSI standard. Bolt holes of the flanges are drilled to straddle the centerline of drain outlets. The flanges are cast integral with body and have slotted holes that are recessed to prevent bolt head from turning (except 4 in. size which is offered both threaded and flanged). These heads are guarunteed by the manufacturer to remove 99% of all liquid droplet and solid particle entrainment where the particle size exceeds 10 microns.
