Brakes Plus Commits To Environmental Sustainability With Eco Ultra® Motor Oil

Each Oil Change Reduces America's Dependency on Imported Foreign Crude Oil

Wichita, KS (Marketwired) - Brakes Plus®, which services nearly 40,000 customer vehicles per month, is now exclusively offering Eco Ultra® -- a proprietary line of sustainable motor oils from Universal Lubricants® -- at all 67 of its brake repair and automotive maintenance facilities across the country.

"Our customers, both longtime and new, trust the decisions we make when it comes to the products we offer within our honest and dependable brake repair and automotive maintenance facilities," said John Koskovich, Brakes Plus' director of products, pricing and purchasing. "We are proud to put our 'stamp of approval' on Eco Ultra motor oil because this eco-friendly product fits with our company goal of protecting the environment, while providing quality products and world class customer service at a great price."

Universal Lubricants also collects over 250,000 gallons of used oil annually at Brakes Plus. The used oil -- still good, but dirty -- is sent to Universal Lubricants' high-tech re-refinery in Wichita, Kansas where the old additives and impurities are removed to produce crystal clear, API compliant Group II EcoClear™ base oil. The base oil is then blended with high performance additives to produce the Eco Ultra high-quality line of lubricants. This process creates a fully sustainable domestic resource to be used over and over, while eliminating the need to import foreign crude oil to make finished lubricants. Eco Ultra is licensed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and meets or exceeds all major SAE requirements and OEM specifications, while also being environmentally friendly.

By exclusively offering Eco Ultra, Brakes Plus is reducing the country's reliance on crude oil by approximately 540,000 barrels per year, or more than 22 million gallons annually. Eco Ultra's refining process also uses up to 89 percent less energy than the process used to refine foreign crude oil, while also emitting up to 65 percent less air pollution in the process.

"Eco Ultra is an ideal product for Brakes Plus to uphold their sustainability goals, while also providing trusted products to their customers at an affordable cost," said Cathy Smith, Universal Lubricants' director of national accounts. "It's an honor to be a nationwide service provider of choice and we support Brakes Plus in achieving their sustainability and profitability goals through the expertise and superior service of the Universal Lubricants team."
