Pittcon's Dr. Gregg Gould Is Keynote Speaker At JAIMA 2011

The Pittsburgh Conference is pleased to announce that Pittcon's committee member, Gregg Gould will be one of the keynote speakers at JAIMA Expo 2011/SIS 2011, September 7-9, 2011, Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan. Dr. Gould will introduce "Enabling Advances in Mass Spectrometry" in an afternoon session on Wednesday, September 7, at 2:00 p.m.
The speakers in this special U.S. symposium will share the results of their current research efforts. Professor Rieko Ishima, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, will talk on results of structural biology research that utilize MALDI mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy. Steven J. Ray, Laboratory for Spectrochemistry, Indiana University, will discuss current work on a distance-of-flight analyzer for mass spectrometry. Professor R. Graham Cooks, director of Aston Labs of Mass Spectrometry, Purdue University and who is also the Pittcon 2012 plenary speaker, will present his recent research results for efforts in ambient ionization and miniature mass spectrometers.
Gregg Gould, a professor of chemistry in the Chemistry and Physics Department at California University of Pennsylvania, received his Ph.D. from the analytical chemistry division at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he did research in the surface chemistry of wet chemical methods for cleaning silicon wafers and the impact of such cleaning methods on silicon oxidation.
Dr. Gould served as a chairman of various Pittcon Committees including Science Week, Short Courses and Meetings Coordination, and just completed a three-year term on the Pittcon Board of Directors.
