Eco-Tec Awarded Seventh Contract from Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation

Pickering, Ontario — Eco-Tec recently announced the sale of a DPU system to Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation (NCC) in Japan. This marks the seventh system purchased by the Japanese capacitor manufacturer to ensure its continued optimal performance capabilities.

The global demand for capacitors, including aluminum electrolytic capacitors, such as the ones produced by NCC, is approximately US$1.4 billion and growing. Depending on the required voltage, the applications for this type of capacitor include consumer products such as: photography photoflash, loud speakers, and automotive audio amplifiers.

A common capacitor manufacturing process includes the preparation of aluminum sheets to withstand voltage. This process uses an acid solution. To prevent solution loss, reduce operating costs, and ultimately reduce waste and waste treatment, NCC incorporated Eco-Tec's DPU system. Eco-Tec's DPU is a weak acid-based decationizer based on Recoflo® technology. The DPU is used to purify the acid solution from the capacitor foil processing line.

The DPU, like Eco-Tec's other products, reduces operating costs, uses little valuable floor space, and offers value-added assurance of reduced waste and environmental impact. The DPU system is scheduled for commissioning by early Summer 2007.
