CAI-INNOVA Headspace System 3724
Based on the INNOVA photoacoustic FTIR Gas Analyser 1301 combined with Chemometrics software, the Headspace System provides monitoring of up to 12 Volatile Organic Compounds in waste water (e.g. PCE, TCE, Benzene, Ethylacetate, THF, Hexane). The Photoacoustic Spectroscopy technology (PAS) has been successfully applied to the measurement of various organic compounds in air. By bringing the analyte of interest into the gas phase, the technology can also be used to monitor various organic compounds in water.
For headspace analysis there are numerous advantages in the use of Photoacoustic Spectroscopy, including:
· The measurement cell is very small – only 3 cm3 – which allows low detection limits.
· Photoacoustic-based instruments are very stable; primarily due to the stability of the microphones with output drift of less than 10% over a period of hundreds of years.
· Photoacoustic-based systems demonstrate very good baseline stability.
The system can be remotely supervised and controlled via a computer network. It is possible to connect acoustic or visual alarms to the system.
