HIGH PERFORMANCE WATER TREATMENT
Cost-Effective Solutions For Advanced
Water Treatment And Remediation

APTWater (APT) is a California-based manufacturer of water treatment systems focused on advanced oxidation processes for:
• Industrial water and wastewater treatment
• Municipal water
• Municipal wastewater treatment and reuse
• Environmental remediation

The APT HiPOx® and PulseOx® technologies are proven solutions for the remediation or treatment of contaminated waters; the removal of organic compounds such as taste, odor, and color; and are based on patented advanced oxidation process (AOP) chemistry combining ozone and hydrogen peroxide. Hydroxyl radicals are produced, the strongest oxidizing agent for water treatment. The APT HiPOx process is the only ozone-based water treatment technology with California Title 22 approval for water reuse. Typical applications include destruction of 1,4-Dioxane, pharmaceuticals, MTBE, chlorinated solvents, or recalcitrant trace organics without bromate formation. ‘Clean Water. No Waste.®' exemplifies APT's standard of reducing or eliminating process residuals, which means lower costs and greater efficiency.

ITT Water & Wastewater - Leopold

elimi-NITE® DENITRIFICATION SYSTEM

The elimi-NITE® Denitrification System utilizes the advantages of deep-bed, mono-media filters to effectively and efficiently remove nitrogen in wastewater effluent. In addition to nitrogen, an elimi-NITE denitrification system can simultaneously remove suspended solids.
The gravity, downflow, packed-bed, denitrification system is an attached growth, microbiological process which removes nitrate-nitrogen, achieving levels below 1 mg/liter. Physically, it is identical to a deep-bed, downflow sand filter utilizing Leopold Type S underdrains and media.
The outstanding performance of this downflow, packed- bed system eliminates the need for downstream filtration or clarification required of other denitrification systems.
ITT Leopold also provides all the components, including the controls, for a complete denitrification system, and takes the responsibility for the successful integration of the filter, including filter operation and performance, to meet each plant's specific requirements.

Odor and corrosion are often the result of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) formation in pump stations, pipelines, pretreatment systems, headworks facilities, and primary clarifiers. The formation of hydrogen sulfide in the collection and treatment system will result in the formation of corrosive sulfuric acid (H2SO4) through additional bacterial action. In municipal applications, the ECO2 SuperOxygenation technology eliminates the formation of hydrogen sulfide using a device called the SuperOxygenation Cone. Pure oxygen is dissolved into the wastewater to prevent the formation of hydrogen sulfide by keeping the pipeline aerobic. As hydrogen sulfide is eliminated, the "rotten egg" odor associated with the gas is eliminated, and no sulfuric acid is formed to corrode conveyance structures. The ECO2 SuperOxygenation technology can be applied in force mains or upstream of headworks and primary clarifiers to avoid costly corrosion problems in these otherwise hard-to-control locations.

FLOW METERS AND LEVEL SENSING

New Accusonic Flowmeter
Meets The Challenge Of Large UV Systems

The new Accusonic Model 7720 Transit-Time flowmeter is uniquely designed to address the difficult installation requirements common to large ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systeAccusonic Technologiesms. UV systems require an accurate flow measure- ment to operate most efficiently. However, the physical space limitations, due to the complex piping of a large UV system, can make it very daunting for most flow measurement technologies to provide an accurate measurement.
The Model 7720 effectively addresses these limitations. The maximum 10 path capability allows the 7720 to measure with great accuracy and repeatability, even in the presence of distorted flow profiles common to large UV system installations. Additionally, the pipe section length required to install a 7720 system is significantly less than other flow measurement technologies for large pipe installations. Measurable pipe/channel sizes range from 8 inches (200 mm) to 500 feet (150 m).

Hawk Measurement

New Breakthrough Sonar Transducer For Level Control

In municipal water and wastewater plants, it is important to measure RAS and Floc (fluff) level in secondary clarifiers, bed level for primary clarifiers, and bed level in thickeners. The Hawk Orca Sonar Interface products can be used for control, and not just for monitoring purposes. The Orca sonar allows the user to control flocculent dosing, control settling time, and control the density of a bed.
The new line of "fourth generation" sonar transducers is designed for improved sensing of interface levels in clarifiers and thickeners! The new sensors offer big improvements in power, penetration, and calibration density range, providing better capability under high-suspended solids loading, ‘sliming', and upset process conditions.
Significant savings from the settling system can be realized through improved process control.

The manhole chimney area is the number one source of infiltration in sanitary sewer collection systems. Preventing infiltration during the construction process is very cost- effective and simple. INFI-SHIELD external seal is the best solution since it increases system capacity by preventing erosion and infiltration in both manholes and catch basins. The one-piece molded seal is made from EPDM rubber and it has a reinforced, preformed L-shaped corner. Having excellent adhesion properties, INFI-SHIELD is bonded with nonhardening butyl mastic and it will pass a vacuum test. INFI-SHIELD installs easily in minutes, without any special tools, and the structure can be immediately backfilled. JWC Introduces Honey Monster SRS-XE At WEFTEC — This Honey Does Even More!

JWC Environmental

Honey Monster® SRS-XE is an automated septage receiving system which combines grinding, solids removal, washing, and dewatering to remove trash before septage enters a wastewater treatment plant. The pivoting auger assembly allows for easy maintenance and minimizes overhead requirements needed to remove the auger. This allows for easy inspections and removal. It features an Auger Monster® screen with 1/4" (6mm) perforations that removes more solids and trash than bar screens. The patented dual-compartment compaction zone provides significant additional dewatering. JWC's unique dewatering segment prevents material from wrapping around the shaft — a common problem with other receiving stations. The MonsterTrack™ control system is an optional feature for the Honey Monster SRS-XE that monitors septage flow and provides a receipt for haulers and accurate billing data for plant managers. The controller redesign separates controls the driver needs to access from controls the owner needs for operation.

Arlat TechnologySame Arlat Product,
New Mission!

Arlat Technology has been producing primary treatment equipment since 1982: Front-cleaned bar screens, Traveling filter screens, Dewatering/Compactor presses, Shaftless screw conveyors, Vortex grit classifiers, Chain and Flight collectors, and weir troughs. These designs have served our customers well for over 25 years.
In 2006, after six years of producing equipment for Arlat, Price-Schonstrom Inc. acquired the assets and began operating Arlat as an independent division. The robust designs have carried forward and the product line expanded by introducing new items such as the spiral channel screen, which can also be used as part of a septage receiving station. We also built on our traveling screen design to create a product platform that will allow us to change the screening technology from a filter screen belt to a multirake bar screen or a perforated screen belt, while utilizing the same frame and controls.

VALVES

Kinetrol manufactures the most complete line of high- performance vane actuators, with distribution facilities in 31 countries. We offer 16 double-acting and 31 spring-return actuator models that produce 8 through 168,000 inch- pounds of torque. We also manufacture positioners, limit switches, gearboxes, I/P transducers, and many other products.
Kinetrol invented the first quarter turn pneumatic vane actuator in 1958.
