Degassing of drinking water and wastewater are practiced to remove dissolved hydrogen sulfide and other gases, such as carbon dioxide, oxygen, etc. Traditional approaches have used either chemicals that consume the gas to be removed, such as chlorine in drinking water to remove the bad taste of dissolved hydrogen sulfide, or using standard tray or packed bed strippers with either air or carbon dioxide.
